Heya,
I just bought a 4-in-1 Multiserver USB cable and Multiserver credits to unlock my new z520a (cingular). I'm having difficulty getting the Multiserver software to recognize my phone.
The procedure I'm using is as follows:
Plug in the USB cable (Multiserver cable drivers have been loaded, windows sees the cable as COM3).
Start Total Multiserver client.
Type in my credit username/password, click Info.
The Multiserver client connects to the server just fine.
Remove the phone SIM, replace the battery and plug the phone into the USB cable. (I've tried plugging the phone into the cable and then replacing the battery as well as not replacing the battery at all too)
Click on the Make Selected Jobs (thought the result is the same if I try and Test the cable).
Briefly press "On" on the phone.
Nothing happens.
It should be noted that with the exact same cable/software (although using a different adapter), I was able to unlock my Cingular branded T616. I've tried selecting different types of flow control on the com port properties (in the Windows Device manager) as well as selecting different baud rates and DTR/RTS settings, still nothing. It's as if the client can't talk to the phone at all. The phone does seem to be getting power from the USB cable though, as it tries to charge itself when it should be communicating with the Multiserver Client (both normal off-style "Charging battery" if I don't press the On button long enough, and while displaying the "Insert Smartcard" screen if I press On longer).
I just get the feeling that I'm missing something in the procedure or that there's some magic keypress I'm not doing. Any help would be appreciated. |

Here is some chekpoints to go through
Remember that the phone is not supposed to turn on, you have to press the on button shortly.
1. Check ports, from system panel
2. Check/uncheck dtr/rts
3. Reinstall drivers
4. Try to run the application on another computer
5. Replace cable |
