Q: Is it possible to stop the auto keylock?
A: Yes. Go to the phone/preferences/locks and disable the key lock there.

Q: After formatting the memory stick, I can't see it on my P800 using file manager.
A: After formatting the stick the system doesn't create the directories (eg. Media files / Audio etc). So after formatting, open any of the Audio, or Pictures, or Communicam application and they will create the directory structure needed to be able to use the memory stick.

Q: What does the size of memory left in storage mamager correspond to?
A: Storage Manager (main screen - bottom) shows free space on C: If you click on files, you can choose between C: and D:

Q: What is the difference between Master Reset and Formatting?
A:
Formatting C: drive is what formatting does - it physically reformats the memory and removes everything, including the entire file-system structure (folders etc). During the next boot the system re-creates its system files, whole folder structure, creates empty databases for contacts, calendar etc.
Master Reset doesn't remove all the files and doesn't clear the file system structure. It only clears databases, system files, 3rd party files and applications, settings etc, but doesn't physically reformat the disk and some files are still there.

Just a remark, in most cases the results are pretty similiar. But formatting can be of help when the file system is damaged, some system folders are deleted/renamed etc. - this is where master reset won't help sometimes. So, in most cases master reset should be just fine and enough and format should be used in more serious cases - that's why it is hidden.

Q: How to change SMS, MMS, Email, Area Info, and Auto Setup alerts?
A: Control panel >> connections >> Messaging accounts >> Alerts (down left)

Q: How to send an sms to a group of people without checking their contacts everytime?
A: Write (or forward or reply to) an SMS and select all the numbers that you want to be on your list. Now place the cursor in the number field (at the top) in the sms window and choose Select All (with flip open of course). You will select all the numbers that will receive this SMS. Next, create a new contact and in the mobile number field, paste this list and name the contact whatever you want (remember that names that begin with numbers are listed first, it's simpler to list the lists before the persons). Now everytime you want to send an SMS to the same group, just select the contact you created and all the numbers will be added in one step. And you can create as many groups as you want.
Just remember that you can't have more than 14 numbers per group in the contact created.

Q: How to change the preferred number in the contact list?
A: You have to edit that contact, go to edit and select 'show in list'

Q: How to get the driver of the P800 for PCs?
A: Actually, you need the driver for the DCU-11 cable. It is available here.

Q: Is it possible to change the size of the text in the SMS section when using it in Flip closed mode?
A: No.

A: Click the icon to the left of the bookmark then click delete.

A: When the phone rings and the picture pops out, use the jogdial. Just scroll it down or up and you'll see which number the caller is using.

A: Use the inbuilt browser and click on the blue button TWICE. Click once again to go to normal screen mode. This is only available for phone versions R1D and upwards. This means that you will have to make an upgrade if your phone is not R1D.

First way: Download and install UIQ SDK (Software development kit). Run the P800 emulator, go to Control Panel / Color schemes and choose your favorite color palette. Now go to epoc32\winscw\c\system\data folder of your UIQ SDK and find file called Colorscm.dat. Send it to your P800 via Infrared, Bluetooth or cable. Use File Manager to locate C:\System\Data folder of your device. Delete existing Colorscm.dat file and replace it with file copied from the emulator. Reboot.
Second way: Just install one of those applications that can edit that for you. You can use for example PSI NT Color Schemes.

A: Restart your phone. This is a bug in early version. An upgrade should solve the problem.

A: Yes, this is only available on R2D and upwards.

A: 10 Meters Maximum.

A: No. But you can customize the color schemes.

A: Yes. Just chose the “All” view (up right) and click “Contacts” then “send this folder”

Q: I can’t read/write on my Memory Stick (corrupted)?
A: Check if it is write-protected at the back. If not, then try to format it through the P800. If not, then try through a Memory Stick reader/writer. If this also fails then your Memory Card is really defective. Buy or change it.

Q: Can I create groups of contacts in my Contacts?
A: Yes. Just click on “Edit Folders” and make your Folder and then open the contacts you want and assign them for it.

Q: When checking EMAIL on P800 does it delete it from the server?
A: No. They only disappear if you download them to your pc, next time you check them on your P800, they will be gone. However, the emails will be deleted from the server if you delete them on the P800 and then do a "get and send".

Q: Can Opera be viewed in Full Screen mode?
A: A: Yes. By selecting Edit->Full screen or pushing the browser button. In full screen mode, you reach the menu by jog-dial towards or a long-click on the page.

A: Go to flight mode.

A: You can’t.

A: Not until we have an application for that.

A: You can’t. However, you can save the whole page, then go to Qfilemanager and get the picture from the Opera directory where you saved the whole page.
However, this has changed in Opera 6.20. Now you can just keep the stylus on the image and a save picture menu will pop up.

Q: Can I save my SMS(s) and Contacts on the Memory Stick?
A: Yes you can backup the contacts to memory stick, please see question 71 for the way to do it.

A: Look at the “Beamed” folder in the messaging application.

A: No.

A: Go to control panel - Display - Light – Off.

A: Open IR on the P800. Then on the T68 go to phonebook >>select "advanced" >> select "send all" >> select "via infrared". Then back to the P800 and open “Beamed” in messaging after you send all.

Q: My P800 shows insert SIM card even though it is already there?
A: Change your SIM. It is probably very old.

Q: How to take off Orange (or any logo) from the P800?
A: Take a piece of cotton and nail varnish remover and gently rub the logo. It takes 10 - 15 minutes. You can then use your fingernail to gently scratch it off. This process takes care and you can scratch the flip whilst doing it. However, it is better to ask the service centre to make it for you.

A: No. Not yet.

A: Yes. Just do the following:-
1-go to your contacts
2-click contacts > send this folder
3-send as "e-mail"
4-when it opens a new e-mail press arrow back
5-the email will be saved to "drafts"
6-open file manager program
7-go to c:/ > systems > mail
8- click on the first folder that apears "00001001_s"
9- find a file named "all.vcf" could be in any folder (dont know why??)
10-copy this file to memory stick

To restore, just click on the file and all the contacts will be resotred.
