Hi there guys i have one slight problem. I just upgraded my tmobile flext 35 contract to flext 35 web and talk and just baught a p990i which is branded on vodafone. At the moment eveything works but tmobile want me to ring them back in 2 weeks time when my web and walk is activated to help me set up the internet connection. I have a funny feeling it is not going to work as it is branded to Vodafone? am i right? if so how can i flash/ unbrand the phone so that i can update the firmware as well?

Thankyou

There's good and bad news!

Good News is that Vodafone P990 contract phones in the UK are unlocked (but do check yours), and so you can put your t-mobile sim in the phone and it will work. You will need to add a new internet account with the t-mobile settings. I think you can have the t-mobile settings sent from the SE website, otherwise t-mobile can give you them. You won't be able to delete the Vodafone internet accounts, but you can setup a new prefered group with only the new t-mobile internet account. Now t-mobile should work just fine. You might need to adjust the Vodafone bookmarks in Opera.

Bad News is that is to the best of my knowledge no one has yet managed to provide a debranding solution, so you are stuck with the Vodafone branding, but this should not stop you using the phone on t-mobile as it should be unlocked.

if you debrand the phone you should have problems with putting your own settings
